.: 11/09/07 - illawarra mini carnival results
The Illawarra Mini Carnival turned out to be quite a successful day and a good time was had by all. The ACT ran out winners with victories over Sydney and Illawarra. In the other competition game, Sydney defeated Illawarra. With only three teams to contest the carnival, it was an opportunity for a Barbarians game where the ACT teamed up with the players from the Hunter and Riverina regions to take on a combined Illawarra and Sydney side. Once again the ACT were victorious in a much closer game than what was anticipated.
The awards were presented at the Warilla Sports Club after the games. Best players for each region were as follows: Shane Street (Illawarra), "Tank" (Sydney), Jeff Garret (ACT) and John Tutty (Hunter / Riverina). Thanks also goes out to all those that assisted on Sunday, including our sponsors, umpires, the ladies on canteen duties and those guys that ran the water on what turned out to be a near-perfect (very warm) day.
Hopefully we will have some photos posted here soon.
